MUNAF PATEL'S CRICKET JOURNEY

Munaf Patel made his test debut against England at Mohali on 9 March 2006. He took 7 wickets in first innings, while 4 wickets in second innings. In the test series against West Indies in 2005-06 he proved that he was the fastest bowler in Indian Cricket Team, with the speed of 85 miles/hour regularly and produced the pace of ball over 90 miles/hour.
He made his ODI debut in ICC Champions Trophy against England on 3 April 2006. Munaf Patel took 3 wickets for 18 runs and become match winner for India. He played an important part in India’s victory in 2011 World Cup. In first World Cup match against Bangladesh he took 4 wickets. In the match against England he dismissed Kevin Pietersen. In the Semi-Final against Pakistan he also played an important part to win that match. Munaf Patel was also played in Final match against Sri Lanka.

MUNAF PATEL'S STRUGGLE IN CRICKET

His full name is Munaf Musa Patel. Munaf Patel was born in Gujarat, India on “12 July 1983”. Munaf Patel first got noticed in 2003. He was only 20 years old when called by Kiran More the chairman of selectors of Indian Cricket Team, before that he did not even played first class cricket for Gujarat. He attracted the attention of Steve Waugh, the ex-captain of Australian Cricket Team. In late 2003, he was signed by Mumbai Cricket team, without ever representing his hometown Gujarat. In 2004, he was struggling with injuries and later he was also sent to Australia for bio-mechanical analysis on his bowling action. In the mid of 2005, he was recovering  from his injuries, selectors had given a chance to him, and he proved that by taking 10 wickets against England in a tour match. Then he was rewarded by his selection in Indian Test Squad against England.
